We arrived just as they were opening at 10:00am and began climbing to the top…

The Tower is okay, but the views are great!

Having a vantage point from which to view a City can really help you get a feel for how the City is situated!

I like the orange-red clay look to the clay tiled roofs! 🙂 The tower was nice but as you mentioned, Sherry, the village was gorgeous in its antiquity. Heritage was rampant with in the homes, gardens and shops! 🙂

The old is definitely more precious. You can see new architecture in most cities but you don’t often see the old traditional styles.
