The view from Tallinn Old Town Wall is wonderful! The wall was originally 2.5 km in length, but isn’t totally intact now. Along a road called Müürivahe, you can enter a wooden door, and for a small fee, climb the stairs and explore the top of the city wall.
Originally, I was going to climb to the top of St. Olaf’s Church to view the City, but because it was a holiday, they were closed. This view was quite spectacular also!
There are other viewing platforms around the City for outstanding and picturesque views of the City! Our Airbnb was located on the outskirts of Old Town on the Western side and the viewing platforms were only a 10 minute walk away…
This is another section of the Old Town Wall…
I usually try to find a place in each City where I can scan the horizon and take in the beauty of the area.
You need to, it’s gorgeous. My wife and I have been there twice, and we might still want to go back.

Thank you for these wonderful photos. Tallinn may be my favorite city along the Baltic and I hope to return their one day. Here is my post from a couple of years ago – views from a bike trail from the harbor. https://stillarunner.com/category/travel/iron-ice-enrichment-voyage/page/2/

Hi Mary Lou…I’m glad you enjoyed them! It was my favorite also. I read your post…seems you were there two years before me!

You have a bit of everything in these photos, the unique culture of the area, the architecture and colour, and the history in those rock structures.

Oops, it’s Rothenburg, not Nuremberg!

I actually had a trip to Europe planned back in 2011, which included that City, but my mother became ill and passed away, so I had cancelled it. I’ll get there one of these days!

That town wall reminds me very much of Nuremberg in Germany. There, the old town wall is completely intact, though. A fantastic city to visit.
Have a ownderful day,
