Washington D.C.’s Adams Morgan neighborhood is colorful, vibrant, funky, and fun! We started our day bicycling from our Airbnb in the Bloomington neighborhood on the East side of D.C. to the quaint neighborhood of Georgetown on the West side and finished in Adams Morgan, having drinks with a former 2 Star Admiral Navy Seal! After docking our bicycles at the Capital Bikeshare station on 18th Street, we walked down the street in search of an outdoor bar for some afternoon refreshments and met Chuck and his dog, Bravo. Having been in the military myself for four years, it was fascinating to listen to Chuck’s amazing lifetime experiences as a former high-ranking officer.
With puffy white clouds, blue sky, and mid-70’s temps, we relaxed for a couple of hours, talking with Chuck and people watching.
Wandering back to pick up some bikes, I requested a photo of this couple dining at a local restaurant, they laughed and said I was the 2nd person to ask them!
The colorful architecture and vibe of Adams Morgan is beautiful!
People were relaxing everywhere…
We found the way back to the our neighborhood, docked our bikes, and I took a final photo before climbing the stairs up to our 4th floor townhouse.
Join me tomorrow as we tour the Smithsonian Natural History and National History Museums and a surprise Hispanic Parade!
I’m definitely falling in love with Washington. So what does a high ranking Navy Seal do with himself when he doesn’t do that any more? It seems everything else would be quite the yawn.

He’s still involved in a part-time way with the military. He couldn’t divulge much info about that though.

Fantastic colour! Hadn’t expected that in Washington-I thought all the houses would be white 😉 Definitely tuning in tomorrow to see those museums! Looks like this is a perfect time of the year to travel there!
