Shea Butter and Coconut Oil Body Cream

Who doesn’t like a luxurious creamy Shea butter body cream to keep your skin satiny smooth and hydrated!  I made some a couple of days ago and love it!  It’s so easy.  I bought some Shea butter from a festival, probably about 6 oz. and added 3 oz. of coconut oil, along with 2 tsp. of essential oil (whatever fragrance you like…I used lavender), and whipped on medium high with my electric blender for about 4 minutes.  It looks like whipped cream and feels great!  You can also purchase Shea butter online through Amazon.

I put it in a Tupperware container, but if you want to give it as a gift, I’m sure you could find some cute jars or re-purpose some from jam or something.  Happy mixing!

  1. I followed many recipes on the internet but this one seems the easiest! I ended up with using unrefined Shea butter (bought on Amazon) straight on my face out of lack of patience, and it works wonders. A kilo has lasted already two years stored in my fridge.
Did you know that the unrefined one has number 6 protection against the sun?
I sure am going to try your recipe, it seems so appetizing 😉

  2. So fragrance, coconut oil and shea butter … I love it! Except I just two bottles of something like it at the store. You should do a book on home-made, simple ideas that are environment friendly and useful.

  3. Looks great! How did you find the cleanup in the blender? Hum…I might make a batch when I run out of the lotion I made a while back but think I’ll just melt the shea butter and coconut oil in a mason jar instead to avoid any cleanup 😉

I'd love to hear what you have to say
