Lovin’ Loveland Bike Trail

Last night was perfect for a 12 mile bicycle ride on the Loveland Bike Trail which is located only 10 minutes from my home!  The 70 mile paved trail follows an old railroad line and the Little Miami River.  As I was taking a photo of the Loveland office, where I began, this gentleman called out wanting me to take his photo…so I had to quickly snap.

A bit farther up the trail this guy and his beautiful dog were willing subjects.  Look at the blue eyes of the doggie…gorgeous!  I’ll bet that’s a great way to meet women!

What do you think of my beach cruiser bicycle…purchased on Craigslist for $60 and it looks brand new!  I love the little basket!

Behind me, the bench appropriately says, “Life’s a Journey, Not a Destination”!

There are cute little homes spread out along the trail…like this one…

At the 6 mile turn around point from Loveland is the Kings Mill Powder Plant aka The Peters Cartridge Company which specialized in gunpowder and ammunition production.  Built in the 1860’s, it was added to the Superfund National Priorities List site by the Environmental Protection Agency in April 2012 for copper, lead and mercury soil contamination.  Apparently, it’s also haunted!  For more history, visit this site.

The trail is lovely!  I love the mature trees lining the path and the scent of green and summer surrounding you!

As these guys passed, one of them said “I was smiling”, when he saw me taking a photo!

This home-made tree ladder and swing into the Little Miami River looks fun!

Here’s another one of those cute little houses…

Back in Loveland, there’s a Hawaiian Shaved Ice stand…

Just before leaving, I took a shot of this outdoor area.  There’s the guy with the dog on the right and farther down is a musician!

I’ve been biking on the Loveland Bike Trail for 20 years now and just love it!
