There’s a Farmers’ Market in Cincinnati called Findlay Market and I like to call it the Friendly Findlay because everyone is so nice! Located in Over-the-Rhine, it’s a 35-40 minute drive from my home, but well worth it because of all of the fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, etc. and especially the people watching and photo opportunities!
I spent a couple of hours there this past Saturday. The flowers were bright and plentiful…
As I walked the aisle, it reminded me a bit of my trip to Chelsea Market in New York City last month!
Time for a smoke break…
I was wandering in and out, taking my time. What a colorful book store across the street…
I bought some organic pork chops, steak, and chicken breasts. I try not to eat much red meat or meat in general, but my husband is definitely a carnivore.
I bought broccoli, celery, red bell pepper, zucchini, squash, and cucumber. These were the biggest carrots I think I’ve ever seen!
My favorite bread store, Blue Oven Bakery has a booth there and these were the two gentlemen working it. They were good sports and so much fun! They were sold out of “Bad Boy” so I bought “Bad Girl”. It’s very similar, but all of the seeds, salt, etc. that are on the outside of the “Bad Boy” are on the inside of the “Bad Girl”!
I got to talking with an interesting artist named Michael Dorsa. This is his hand and a piece of his work. He makes Guilloche & Enamel Jewelry!
As I was buying my meat, this gentleman noticed me taking photos and asked if I’d take his photo. See what I mean about friendly people!
This artist creates really unique decor items from clay. I forgot to ask for his card.
I put a dollar in this boy’s violin case…
Cute little girl…
This is the other end of the building. There are lots of places for people to sit and socialize, have a bite to eat or just people watch!
As I was walking to my car, I noticed these children swinging at a playground next door, so I started taking their photo. They soon noticed me and the little girl said, “Thank you”. That pulled at my heart-strings a bit. I guess she doesn’t receive that much attention, so having someone take her photo was special!
I love being a “Tourist in my City”!
