Mount Adams is a residential neighborhood in Cincinnati that’s filled with beautiful architecture, trendy bars, restaurants, and art! I was a “Tourist in my City” on Saturday and visited the area for an Art Walk. Rather than viewing the art, I found myself more interested in walking around taking photographs of the beautiful architecture! As you can see, it was a beautiful Spring day and I totally enjoyed soaking up the sun and fresh air. Originally Mount Adams was known as Mount Ida, named for a woman who used to live there. If you’re interested in history, you can read about why they changed the name here.
Nicholas Longworth, an original landowner, transformed the hillside into a wine vineyard, and is known as the first commercially successful winemaker in the United States. No wonder I like wine so much! Unfortunately, due to grape diseases, a few decades later…the vineyards were virtually wiped out.
Many of the homes have a view of the Ohio River because the town sits up rather high above the City and River. This home is more modern than some of the others and I like the unique lines and stark white color!
I always find Street Art on my explorations….
The blooming dogwood trees were beautiful…
This is the Holy Cross Monastery and Chapel…
There are a lot of steep hills in the area, so you can get a nice workout walking around. This is the Immaculata Church…
A sculpture that sits on the side of the Church…
In front of the Church, you’ll find the 65 steps where you can start at the bottom and walk up the steps–called “Praying the Steps“, an annual tradition that dates back over 150 years. It begins at midnight on Holy Thursday and ends at midnight on Good Friday.
You know me and reflections…
See you soon! p.s. I’m leaving for my trip to Philly and NYC today, so if I don’t answer your comments quickly, that’s why!

Thanks Mike! I was only there by myself for a couple of hours. I met a girlfriend afterwards nearby and we took more photos of a park on the River.
