Uncorked and Ten Thousand Villages in O’bryonville

I found lots of fun and artsy things to photograph last week while being a “Tourist in my City” in O’bryonville, Cincinnati, Ohio!  The next six photos were taken in a unique place called “The Art of Entertaining” and “Uncorked”, which is part of the former.  “Uncorked” is the wine shop and bar section and “The Art of Entertaining” is the private events section.  I’ve enjoyed a few of their Friday night wine tastings!

These cute guys were sitting on a ledge…

This is where the wine tastings are held…

As you can see, this is where the food is prepared…

In the back and on the sides, there are separate rooms.  I like the light filtering in for these two photos…

I fell in love with this little area…

Right down the street is a place called “Ten Thousand Villages“.

They have a store full of beautiful handmade items from around the world.  I spoke with the store manager and she said one of their goals is to help end human sex trafficking by buying goods from women to keep them from having to be involved with prostitution as a means to take care of their families.

Once back outside, I found the angles of the light and buildings interesting…

  1. I liked the patterns and the light and dark contrasts in the photos. I also think that our Global Village has some similar handmade art by artisans in other countries, the money is supposed to go more directly to them. The shop is run by volunteers from local churches. Very interesting concept. Glad to have seen the O’Bryonville posts, I was married to two Cincinnati men…never made it to there.

    • That’s what I liked about a few of them also. I discovered that shop is non-profit. I can’t believe you were married to two Cincinnati men. I don’t think I’d try anymore of them! 😉

      • Oh yes, Tetas de la Sacristana – if you can find it outside Almería, you are doing well! Better than anything I’ve ever tasted and I HAVE tasted lots of Californian wine… absolutely lots and ya can keep ya Mondavi !!! LOL!!

There is actually lots of Spanish wine that is never seen outside Spain and the ones that get exported and cost a fortune elsewhere in the world are the ones that are, hmmm… let’s say “less popular” here 🙂

      • I’ll have to see if I can find it. You’d be surprised by the wines you can find here in the states…just like we’d be surprised what you have to offer there. 🙂

  3. Sherry, I love your Beautiful, Colorful and Lively photos! Incredible shots…..as always! Uncorked looks like so much fun! My favorite picture is the 2nd one….the picture of the wine bar with the wine glasses hanging from the ceiling rack. I adore Ten Thousand Villages….I went to the one in Asheville. I think they have stores all over the USA but I am not sure. Thanks for coloring my world with vivid colors today!!!
