Photo Shopping in Covington, Kentucky

Yesterday, I explored Covington, Kentucky, which is located right across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio!  In the area called MainStrasse Village, I found princesses and fairies at Stoney’s Gifts, where the owner Sandi Stonebraker has created a magical shop.  She and I chatted for a while…about travel, art, and photography, but I forgot to ask her if she painted the paintings in the shop.  I believe she did!  They are whimsical and fun.

MainStrasse Village is known for its numerous bars, historic architecture and German heritage.

Mia, Sandi’s doggie, met me at the door with a wagging tail, a big smile and lots of kisses!  Her name’s not Mat!

Love this painting!

I think I’ll have to go back and buy a pair of these beautiful house slippers!  They’re so colorful and plush!

This is what many of the buildings look like in the MainStrasse area of Covington…

I wandered into another shop and took this photo at 2:29…

There were beautifully wrapped handcrafted soaps…

Back outside, although the temperature was in the 30’s and the wind was quite nippy, I admired the old, yet colorful architecture.

I found so many interesting, beautiful and/or fun things in Covington to take photos of…I’ll be back tomorrow with more!

  2. Beautiful share. I do love your blog, but don’t get to comment often because your photos take so long to load up and then the box won’t stay still long enough for me to type in it. Maybe my internet here in South Africa isn’t fast enough to catch you, 🙂

  8. That was fun! I haven’t been to Covington, KY in many, many years. I almost went to Cincinnati and then to Covington over the Christmas holidays, but we had to cancel the trip. So glad I got to see again through your post. Thank you. 🙂
