Lost in the Details is this week’s WordPress Photo Challenge! I’m still amazed that every time I participate in a challenge, I learn something new. I interpreted this challenge to mean when we take a photo…if we look closely…there is so much more to see. Some of the photos required cropping and I was pleased with the creativity I was able to utilize with choosing the photos and with the process of what part of the photo to crop.
This was one of my favorites. It’s a cropped version of the 2nd photo and was taken in Ft. Myers, Florida in November, 2012. I like the way the letters on the other side show through. It’s the simple things that make me happy!
These flowers in the Namid Desert, Namibia, Africa were a pleasant surprise!
This hotel lobby in San Francisco was majestic…
Zooming in on the detail…
I enjoy interacting with people and this artist, standing in front of one of his creations, was very willing to have his photo taken. Location: Columbus, Ohio
Cropping this photo was especially fun! He has the look of a mad scientist!
While on the lookout for interesting photography subjects, this statue in Downtown Cincinnati was also a willing subject!
I particularly enjoyed cropping a second photo for a more creative and personal feel…
I’m looking forward to a great weekend and to finding beauty in the details!
~Sherry~

Very nicely done! It’s great that you captured enough depth of field in your wider shot to be able to crop down to the details – I need to keep that in mind as someone who has a propensity for shooting wide open. Thanks for inadvertently prompting me to think about my shots from a different perspective Sherry!

Sherry, This Photo Challenge was one of my favorites! It was so difficult to choose a favorite because I loved them all. If I had to pick a favorite it would be the first photo with the letter cut-outs…..but I also loved the San Fran hotel lobby picture just as much! Marco & I are going to San Francisco, Napa Valley, & Sonomo this May……what is the name of the hotel that you shot that gorgeous picture? I would love to see it in person! Have A Happy Day! ~Sherry

I liked the mirror photo where we can see you taking the man’s picture, and then I scrolled down and saw that you had seen yourself in it too (since you cropped it so we could see that). Isn’t it fun when you can find these little treasures in a photo? I love your desert flowers too.
