Flea Market finds at Traders World in Monroe, Ohio

Traders World in Monroe, Ohio is a Flea Market extravaganza!  With over 1,200 vendor spaces and occupying 11 acres, there’s something for everyone!  I like to go to take photos and people watch.

I’ve seen this project of making lamps from liquor bottles on Pinterest

The only thing I bought was some incense.  There were so many to choose from, the choice was difficult!

I’m sure this gas mask is certified for any terrorist attacks!

There were quite a few stalls selling wooden roses.  I guess they’re hot now!

I was tempted to get a psychic reading from Colleen!  I had to sneak to get this photo…I pointed the camera somewhere else until no one was walking in front and quickly snapped a photo!

Love the colorful dishes!

I realize I like rows of things!  I have so many photos from my outing, it was difficult to choose.

It’s amazing what artists can do with the airbrushing…

This poor monkey was so hyper.  You can tell he was upset!  The owner was charging a dollar to take a photo with their camera and something like $3.00 if you wanted to be in the photo.

I’m surprised I was able to get a few clear shots of him because he was constantly moving.  He would go over to the wall and pick at it…hoping to find a way out!

I had my Flea Market fix now for a year or so!

  2. Beautiful photos … but those of the little monkey made me come goosebumps: possible that “civilization” [or what we call so] is always so depraved to keep in captivity a poor exotic animal, certainly more at home among the forest trees?! In the U.S. there are no laws governing these things? Forgive my intrusion, but apparently the WWF can not be in control of everything and everyone… Have a lovely w.e. :-)claudine

  3. Great photos! Your photo of the Fiesta plates brought back such fond memories of Brit & Jon Reis of Mariemont….when I set their dinner table I loved to mismatch the colored Fiesta plates, sort of like designing the colors of a rainbow. As for the monkey….my heart is full of pain that the cute adorable little monkey has to live a very cruel life of living on a chain, dressing up in silly outfits….for what? That owner should be ashamed of themselves but in reality we all know that she/he is not abashed at all. I will pray for that little monkey and all the other animals who are abused as such.

  4. I’m glad you took the monkey pictures. That’s reality. We don’t have to like it though and I know you agree it’s cruel to keep wild animals like that as pets. I think often it’s more for the owner’s self-importance. “See me! I’m special. I have a pet monkey.” It goes with the dancing bears. That always gets to me. But your photos are precious! I love the colour and the unique angles you find to showcase ordinary things and make them special.
