It’s amazing what a little paint, carpeting and decorations can do for a home! My obsessive compulsive tendencies come in handy when moving into a new house. Some people don’t mind having boxes sitting for weeks…or even months, but I think a cluttered home is a cluttered mind! With a little help from friends and family one day and a lot of hard work for a week - the outcome is very pleasing. My husband and I were blessed that our previous house sold in a month and I found a smaller house on five acres…within a small forest…to call home.
So far I’ve seen turkeys and their babies, deer, a dead mouse in the basement, a neighbor’s cat named “Trent” that thinks I’m her mommy, lots of bats (the previous owner installed a bat box on the side of the house), hummingbirds, squirrels, goldfish and frogs in the KOI pond, and lots of spiders (we’re in the country now). Here are the before and after photos…
The Great Room…kitchen…dining room…living room and a special feature – a spiral staircase to the lower level, vaulted ceiling with skylights. New cabinet hardware, curtains, titanium (stainless steel) refrigerator, and paint.

69′ Deck in back yard (a perfect place for a hot tub)!

Lower level family room (they had a pool table)…we’ve made it into a man cave for my 22-year-old son. It’s his bedroom and living room!

3rd bedroom converted into an office (notice the yucky carpet…doggy stains). New carpet installed, wallpaper border removed, new paint and drapes

Guest bedroom…New paint, carpet, and drapes

Master bathroom…upper/lower flowery borders removed, new paint, light fixtures, mirrors, towel bars, etc.

Master bedroom…wallpaper border removed, new paint, and carpet

KOI Pond with waterfall and front entry way (previously a jungle). Of course I picked a 95 deg. day to weedwack!

We’ve already taken a hike through the woods and are looking forward to having guests soon!!
