Hollywood Casino in Lawrenceburg, Indiana is a beautiful Fantasy Land, where you can double your money in an instant…or walk away a pauper! It’s located almost an hour from my home, just across the border of Ohio into Indiana. I went there on Saturday evening with a girlfriend to see a band that we like. The last time I visited was almost 10 years ago, when I took my mother. I’m not a gambler. I only gambled $1.00 while in Las Vegas back in 2007. I’ve been taking my camera with me most everywhere I go now…because when I don’t…I wish I had! I don’t remember Hollywood Casino being this grand or pretty…perhaps they’ve renovated.
This world atlas map on one of the lobby ceilings was particularly appealing to me…being a traveler!
The hallway carpet is quite colorful and modern!
If beautiful twinkling lit trees don’t get you in the mood to gamble…I’m not sure what will!
These over sized hanging globe lighting fixtures were my favorite photographic element…
I couldn’t stop taking photos of them. From different angles, zooming in and out…
From above and below and capturing reflections…
Cincinnati, Ohio recently opened their own casino…The Horseshoe Casino. I had the opportunity to visit there and have to say…it isn’t as opulent as Hollywood Casino!

I will eventually see this one! I like the Hollywood casino in Columbus and must admit had a very positive experience. I won $500 on the Tarzan slot machine and had only put in $10. So, had a wonderful vacation in Florida shared with a couple of friends, fished and took a lot of sunset photos in October, ’12. I like your shots and the colors are wonderful. Enjoying following you wherever you go…

That sealing painting or stain glass .. is magnificent, but that Hallway carpet is terrible … but I’m sure it is very practical for its purpose … your photo of it is very good. This for me an artificial world … your photos are great, and the top one is my favorite, but I can’t say I think the casino is beautiful, but very colorful – yes.

Yes…the carpet is quite garish/gawdy. It is a very artificial world. Right now…it’s still winter here…although it’s Spring. Can’t wait to take more photos outside!

You have done a fantastic job with your inside jobs …. but to take signs of spring … is truly wonderful. We have full winter too – below Zero tonight, but not much snow here in Landskrona, but my mum had loads.

I’m quite surprised at them allowing the pictures as well. That is usually the golden rule at most casinos and anywhere gambling takes place.

In case you weren’t able to see my reply to the last lady…I told her “A security guard approached me part way through the evening and said I shouldn’t take photos of the ceiling because there were security cameras. He was somewhat shy and timid…not very forceful. 🙂 “
