New Eyes

I stepped onto my deck this morning and captured these photos of the light snowfall.  When I initially looked out the window, the dusky light caught my eye and I thought–”Wow, I need to take a picture”!

I find myself doing that more often…everywhere I look…I’ll see a photograph!  I know most of you can relate–those of you who like to take photographs.  When you compare these photos with the next few–you realize how blue the light was.  I find that really interesting.

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.       ~Marcel Proust~

The rest of these photos were also taken in my backyard or side yard.  The last one was obviously in the Autumn and you’ll notice my doggie–Jake–in that one!

  1. I like the blue photos. I’m not sure if the light was really blue like this or wether it was your camera that made them blue. Your camera will have a White Balance setting somewhere. The reason for this blueish tint to your pics is that the WB was incorrect. It looks as though the WB temperature was set to around 3000K which would have given it the tint, if you have a manual setting in your camera, you can experiment with adjusting it manually. The higher the setting, the warmer the pic, the lower the setting, the cooler it will be…. Just thought I’d mention it…:)

  2. I love living where there are four seasons. You can take a picture of the same scene 4 times a year and get a different photo every time. Not to mention, wait an hour or two for the sun’s angles to change and wallah, same deal. Mother Nature is always changing her wardrobe, it seems. These are some really nice shots. ;)

  3. Nice pics! Especially the blue light and the last one with the dog and colorful leaves.
that’s one of my favorite quotes by Mary Oliver, who is one of my favorite poets. I write poetry mostly because I want to try and remain in that exalted state. Sometimes they’re dark though, I admit.

  4. Hi,
I love the photos, so different in the change of the seasons, the colour in the snow photos is just magnificent. Jake looks to be a little cutie. :D

I'd love to hear what you have to say
